New Addition

Or should I say new Edition? In early AugustĀ  one of my nieces’ will be welcoming a new baby boy to the family. It has been a busy couple of months, so I have fallen behind on making the usual handmade welcome package. But all is not lost, last weekend I came across a few items I made ‘back in the day’ – about 16 years ago – I made them for my son’s room.

I remember working on them on the train ride in to NY city where I was taking PASCAL classes @ City college.

Both pieces are made using simple stem and satin stitch embroidery on an unbleached price of cotton fabric. The fabric is backed with batting and mounted on heavy duty card stock. I think I may put them in a frame.

Just the two of us

I misplaced the original images, so I am going to redraw them in illustrator and create coordinating receiving blankets, burp cloth and bibs for the new born.
